MURALS

As part of the Riversdale Art Walk, we're creating five new murals in the neighbourhood. We did a public call for mural artists and Chikako Ogawa was chosen! We are excited to see Chikako's creation come to life during the Art Walk!To celebrate our partnership with Saskatoon Pride, we commissioned a mural from artist Jo Van, who will paint alongside Chikako on the vacant building beside the Roxy Theatre, transforming plywood into works of art.We are partnering with Riversdale Chinatown and the artist collective The 525 to do another two murals! Brody Burns will paint on the brick wall beside Oxbow Architecture. @jamerils, Azul Gonzalez and Nick Paradis will work on a collaborative mural at 219 20th Street W (formerly Rivers Dale Minimart and Chung Wah grocery). The artists met with the building owner, heard his stories about growing up in the Chinese community in Riversdale, and are using this conversation as inspiration for a new work that will cover all the plywood on the building.Oxbow Architecture is commissioning another mural to be painted during the Art Walk in their new vestibule. You can watch the artists' work come to life during the event!
